I'm John Schroeder and I'm a musician based in Los Angeles. I work as a session player, composer and producer as well as being a solo artist and running a small home studio.
I'm a graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music and have toured extensively all over the world as a guitarist with artists ranging from legendary singer Frankie Valli to indie-rock band Pomplamoose. I often play in the house band on ABC's Dancing with the Stars and have released two solo guitar records as well as a multitude of music with my longtime collaborator Ross Garren (sometimes as the Sheriffs of Schroedingham). I've produced two french language records for the band Pomplamoose - 'En Francais' (2020) and 'Impossible A Prononcer' (2021) - and a full length record for Nataly Dawn - 'Gardenview' (2022). I also write music for film and tv and my work has popped up everywhere from 'Somebody Feed Phil' on Netflix to Yankees games on NBC. Additionally I perform with and manage LA's premiere yacht rock specialists Harbor Party.
Other artists/musicians I've had the honor of performing or recording with include: Steve Miller, RuPaul, Marc Cohn, Grace Kelly, Kait Dunton, Janiva Magness, Raquel Rodriguez, Micheal Bearden, Jordin Sparks, Cyrille Aimee, Ellen Reid, and Nigel Hall.
I also work as a session musician on TV and film projects. Some of the productions I've had the pleasure of contributing stringed instruments to include Mr. Throwback (NBC), Beyond Paradise & Death in Paradise (BBC), Women of the Movement (ABC), Palm Royale (Apple), Motown Magic (Netflix), Golden Gate (Red Bull Studios) and Disney on Ice.
I'm also a committed educator and have taught at Musicians Institute, Los Angeles College of Music and for Sonora Guitar Intensive.
