I'm John Schroeder and I'm a musician based in Los Angeles. I work as a session musician, composer and producer as well as being a solo artist and running a small home studio.

I'm a graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music and have toured extensively all over the world as a guitarist with artists ranging from legendary singer Frankie Valli to Ben Folds to indie band Pomplamoose. The last few years I've played in the house band on ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' and toured with the Wild Faery company playing the music of the hit anime show 'Attack on Titan' with orchestras across the US.

As an artist I've released two solo guitar EPs, many singles and videos as well as a multitude of music with longtime collaborator Ross Garren. As a producer I've worked on albums for Pomplamoose ('En Francais' (2020) & 'Impossible A Prononcer' (2021), Nataly Dawn 'Gardenview' (2022), Grace Kelly, Lara Lucille and more. 

Other artists and musicians I've had the honor of performing or recording with include: Steve Miller, RuPaul, Marc Cohn, Kait Dunton, Janiva Magness, Raquel Rodriguez, Michael Bearden, Jordin Sparks, Cyrille Aimee, Ellen Reid, Wayne Brady, The Two Lips, Larry Goldings, flowerovlove, Vikram Devasthali and Nigel Hall.

I also work as a session musician on TV and film projects. I've had the pleasure of contributing stringed instruments to productions like Mr. Throwback (NBC), Beyond Paradise & Death in Paradise (BBC), Women of the Movement (ABC), Palm Royale (Apple), Motown Magic (Netflix), Haunted Hotel (Netflix), Girl Climber (Red Bull Studios) and shows for Disney on Ice, Six Flags Magic Mountain and the Ringling Brothers Circus.

Additionally I write music for TV/Film and my work has popped up everywhere from 'Somebody Feed Phil' on Netflix to Yankees games on NBC to 'Love Island Australia.'  In 2024 I composed the music for director Taylor Bakken's award winning short film 'What's the Deal with Birds'.

I'm also a committed educator and have taught at Musicians Institute, Los Angeles College of Music and for Sonora Guitar Intensive.
